Raleigh NC and Washington DC lead US Postal Mail Opt Out of Junk Mail for week ending 10-27-07

Raleigh North Carolina and Washington DC lead the cities crusade for stopping junk mail and protecting ones privacy for the week 10-21-07 to 10-27-07.

Raleigh is known as the “City of Oaks” for its many oak trees, though pine trees are the dominant species. It has a population of approximately 367,995 (2007 estimate), making it the second most populous city in North Carolina, after Charlotte. N.C. Division of Pollution Prevention and Environmental Assistance of Raleigh North Carolina has a nice recycling page which includes how to stop junk mail.

Washington D.C. or Washington District of Columbia (abbreviated as “D.C.”) has a population of 582,049 and have a web site call RECYCLE DC.
